It occurs to me that I have not done anything “crafty” in quite a while. I know this for two reasons. One, I have an unopened package of glue sticks in the container I use for such things. The glue hasn’t turned yellow or anything…but the cardboard packaging has….They don’t use acid free paper?
Two, [...]

I had taken a mental health day this week….you know the feeling. After picking my youngest son up from grade school, we stopped at McDonald’s. He’s playing the Monopoly Game Promotion. He is convinced that we are going to get the million dollars. We have more Foot Locker coupons right now, than we have feet in the [...]

My newly Americanized friend was telling me latest info from the “grapevine” re: the N. This latest bit of news made me laugh, joyously. (Sorry if you think I’m a heartless *#!^>. Obviously you haven’t been paying attention.)
My friend said, “What do you think of that?!” I replied with, “I warned him. It just [...]

When the boys were little, I learned that every summer, starting in mid June and running through the end of August, the public library has a reading contest for children. Children would get a special map or book log, depending on the theme, to note which books they had read. Each week they would get to move [...]

This was originally entitled “Gaslighting: Doggy style.
I was going to be able to use this great line: “No, this is not going to be about sex. Mind out of the gutter, please.” But I thought if I had one more post about Gaslighting, my audience was probably going to go screaming off into the night.
Really, this [...]

We’ve always read to our kids. When the boys were little, Dr. Seuss was the author of choice. When Tim, Matt & Pete were little, there were many books we loved. But when Sam came along, it was as though there had been an “explosion” in children’s literature. Maybe it was because the older boys had long [...]
11 year old Politics

We get a lot of wisdom from our back seat.
Our 11 year old has this whole political thing figured out. When he heard that the presidential candidates were picking their running mates, Sam had this suggestion…a bit of sage 6th grade advice.
“It’s sorta like picking teams for dodge ball. For a Vice President, you’d better [...]

I wonder if I can sell Milton Bradley on the idea for a new board game using their basic idea for Monopoly? I was thinking of calling it – Narcissism: The Game.
Players would not buy and trade properties; rather they would charm, deceive and then discard people. Of course there would be extra points for how viciously the [...]

I spent my evening being the manicurist for a furry diva. I’ve trimmed 18 razor sharp, kitty toe nails; and I still have flesh on 99% of my body. It seemed like a good idea at the time. I had nothing else to do…I’m waiting for the season premiere of CSI.
Actually, the real reason is because AJ (the re-in”cat”ion) of Boots, [...]
